RSY Lawn Tennis Club house wine labels
Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club (RSYLTC), is a large club based in Toorak, Melbourne. They were in need of an update on their 4 house wine labels that were previously set up in a Microsoft Word with a very simple layout.
The client wanted to use imagery of the club on these labels so that when the bottles are purchased for take away, these photos are a nice representation and reminder of the club environment. These wines are served on a daily bases to many of its members, most of which are ageing and aren’t very enthusiastic about change, therefore all changes needed to be carefully considered.
Due to the nature of these ever-changing house wines and the hospitality sector at RSY, the client also requested that these labels be editable for future changes, eg. the year, grape variety and bottled location. Considering this, and the software available to staff, the final designs were very carefully crafted using the good old Microsoft Word. This time, with more colour and consideration.

Stage 1
Designs with both the new version of the club logo and old version of the club logo were experimented with, included a twist option with a contemporary, typographic approach.
Stage 2
Once the main design direction was chosen, use of different imagery was explored in sets.
Final labels in use
Labels are printed on the RSY office printers and sticker sheets that can be obtained from local office suppliers.
